Guys,
Do any of you use apple corn? If so do you REALLY believe it attracts more deer? And please let's not bring up Indian corn cuz I already use it.
Thanks, Mel

No, I don't buy into it. I tried it at a place I was having trouble drawing deer in. Same problem existed after I used it for several barrels full. It does smell good, though.

Had a feeder running plain ole corn in a pen for a couple of years without any issues from the cows. Loaded it with the apple corn and my next trip down the pen was tore up and feeder laid over. Conclusion cows love it

Have used it off and on. I see no difference in how well it works to attract deer over any other shell corn. All the apple corn I see is mummies and usually has really big kernels and is very clean and it comes in good plasticky/non paper bags and at heb and other places is priced as cheap or cheaper than unscented corn so I will buy it then.
It's hell eatin em live

They should state making an Apple scented Indian Corn. But that would probably make deer hunting too easy. Kind of like hunting HF.

i used Apple corn from United Grocery in Breckenridge one weekend and had a record 17 deer in sight at one time in front/back/right/left at one time. Small sample I know but curious if others see more deer when broadcasted from a tailgate feeder over a large area?

I have been running an experiment with apple corn last few years, a buddy and I hunt on the same pipe line, he is several hundred yards away but with good binoculars I can see his feeder. He has been feeding only apple corn while I have not. I don’t really see any improvement with the apple corn, if he were to go to regular corn and me switch I think we would have the same results. I do notice the biggest difference when I use corn soy bean mix I will see more of every type of animal
Mathp about the tailgate feeder, yes I noticed the same thing, I only did it once last year because I don’t like messing with my area at all before the hunt just so I don’t spook anything off but took a long weekend figured after a few days it would be ok but right away deer coming out from everywhere but at the feeder to eat the corn that I threw from the tailgate feeder

Apple corn works because it's scented. It does not taste like apples
From a feeder it's about the same as regular.
From a tail gate feeder or hand corn heck yes it makes a difference
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Once the deer in your area get used to regular corn and "apple" flavor corn, then it won't matter at all what you buy. They will eat both at the same rate. Just make sure that your corn is "clean" and not powdery and that the kernels are big in size.
