Hi all, new to the forum. I was fortunate enough to draw first archery elk and mule deer for the first 2 weeks in sept for unit 34 in New Mexico. Going to do some scouting this weekend. Recently picked up a bunch of new gear for this hunt. Mathews Halon, vortex spotting scope, leupold rx1200 rangefinder, badlands 2200, and gonna break in my new danner pronghorns this weekend. Hoping to get some good pics this weekend as well.

Congrats on your draw. There are, or at least were, (haven't been able to go up there for a few years) some great looking bulls and bucks in Unit 34. It's beautiful country. I did most of my hunting around Mayhill.

Did some scouting this weekend and found lots of elk. Found a few nice muleys too. Should be an awesome hunt.
