Ok, so, after getting my Alzheimered up Brother in Law a new place to live, I went to Cabelas rifle shopping. Here's what I found.

1. Fierce, VERY nice rifle, action is very smooth, stock very good fit
2. Bergara, " " "
3. LAW, Meh, action was rough compared to the others but I liked the stock better
4. Nolser 48, Meh but the stock was a very good fit.

These are all in the $2,000 range. These all have 1 MOA guarantees which I'm sure will approach .5 with some work at the reloading bench, You can definitely tell they are not $4-5,000 full customs but pretty dang close.

They had a BUNCH of the "new" Tikka TX3 rifles, no superlight. X-bolts are great, even better now that JARD makes a drop in 1.5# trigger. Kimbers were nice too,

I still would like to see a new Barret Fieldcraft but these are being sold before they hit shelves, not enough accuracy info yet.

So, my question is, if the rifle shooter can do his part will any of these be 500 deer yard killers?

6.5 Creedmoor

Carefull buzz...ya gonna get a reputation like mine of the fingers can't type as fast as the brain can think it...believe it or not with my laughable syntax and failures in sentence construction...I spend more time correcting my spelling that the fat fingers left evidence of...and I am married to an English Major who spent 14 years editing 4 corporate Attorneys every written document before it left the office...which is my penance for sleeping thru composition class's smile

Shooter skill, and proper optics (including range finder) are a bigger hurdle to overcome than those rifles. Giving all of them perfect hand loads.

Stock fit will serve you the best as far as accuracy goes on those rifles. All are likely to be accurate with load(s) they like.

For that price, why not go semi custom? Alamo Precision has a couple of lines at that price point, built to your specifications. You could have exactly what you want, and sub MOA wouldn't even be a question. I would honestly expect 1/2 MOA would be a breeze to achieve.
