Anyone know, or hunt this area? Looking for what type of quality might be expected here. I think I know, but would like to hear others experience. Between Cisco and Breckenridge.
Thanks in advance.

Muley, I hunt SW Young counties, near Throckmorton and Stephens counties. About like a lot of places, some very nice deer, good amount of hunting pressure in the area being within 2 hours or so of metromess, lots of nocturnal activity therefore. On multiple occasions I have seen 130+ class bucks crossing 578 between Breckenridge and Young county. Crystal Falls seems to have nice deer in that area in particular. My experience is to get on them during bow season or very early rifle season before the bullets really start to fly...

All depends on how big the lease is and your neighbors. 120-140 on the high end with the occasional 150". But it all depends on how many and how young the deer are your neighbors are killing. I'm 7 miles south of Breckenridge towards Cisco. PM me the ranch or the road it's on and I might be able to tell you a little more.

He's on the north side of the lake and has a honey hole with some big good neighbors...not the norm for this county.

We hunt just outside of Caddo, and it's the best lease I've been on. I love hunting Stephens county.

We hunted just south of Caddo, on the Link Ranch for many years before we bought our place in Young county. We were on a well managed ranch, but I don't ever remember any monsters being taken off the ranch. Some good deer, but nothing spectacular. As mentioned too, plenty of pressure in the area.

we hunt on 3000 acres between Cisco and Breck. Every year it seems someone takes a buck around 140". Awhile back a guy got a buck that scored mid 150's. Plenty of 10 points on our place - most of the guys are real good about letting them walk until they get to be at least 5 years old.

hunted on 5k acres on the west side of the lake in the late 90's. 4 guys on 5k acres. as a group we killed two bucks in the 150's, and handful in the 140's and passed on boatloads of 130's and 120's.

We never could get above mid 150's, even with supplemental nutrition and wheat fields. It was game rich for sure.....

here are some bucks from that property

That's almost exactly what I was thinking. The picture helps a lot! Thanks for the insight.

We have Hunted on 500 ac. Just South of Woodson in Far North Stephens Co. since '95. We have killed deer in the High 130's and low 140's. Just depends on the size of the place and pressure around you. Also, it's being at the right place at the right time. Couple of Years ago an Older Gentlemen on a 100 ac. lease(next to us) killed a 166 the week after X-mas. The Fires around PK Lake in '11 pushed some new genetics into our area. If the neighbors around you have the mindset of "LET 'EM GO! LET 'EM GROW" you will kill some Nice Deer, but if Not, then Good Luck!
