I've hunted hogs for years but have little experience with calls. What is your favorite call? How do you use it? Thanks!!

I've tried mouth and electric calls and never had any success... really the best thing that I had results with is to consistently put corn/bait of for them. I'm not saying that calls don't work in general but everybody that I spoken to here in East Texas tell me that they spook more hogs than actually come to it. Here's my recipe for hog bait...

Foxpro, I use a CS24-C. I've called in a bunch with Boar Sparring and a couple with Sow Protection and Bachelor Fight. I only got 1 on video and I've posted it several times but here you go.

That boar running to the call is what I'm after! How long do you wait between calling sessions? How far do you move? Thanks again!

I know where they bed down on our ranch in several places. I found those spots by calling but it's made it much easier once I found them. In my experience it only takes a few minutes. If I don't see one in a few minutes I won't see one. It's a territorial defense thing so they come running in full speed or not at all.

And set the call away from you. I had it right in front of me that time to mess with my buddy who was filming. I don't recommend that.

Thanks for the advise. The reason I was asking about calling is that I was hunting over the 4th. During my hunt I found a really good bedding area. I tried still hunting but it was to thick to get a shot and all I did was bump them. They weren't coming to feeders real well because after all the rain there is food everywhere. Also water holes were a bust. I was able to get into a Sounder and after dropping a couple I grunted in a couple more with my voice. That's what got me thinking about it.

All I used was boars sparring.

I've called them in with piglet distress, feeding hogs, boar fight, and sow protect but like any calling it's gotta be right time and place. I've actually had them come into the coon fight sound twice.
