We were invited to help out the Friends of NRA fund raiser shooting competition in Pampa a couple of weeks ago. When I told them my 13.9 year old son had never seen a competition, much less get to compete, they told me to have him bring his 308 and his 1911 .22.

Upon arriving we found out that some one had actual sponsored him in all 9 events ($150.00)

I knew that he was having problems hitting at the 100 yard mark, so I did not expect him to even hit paper a the 300 yard event.

I was told that he had done well at all the events and that he had listened when instructed, I knew that he had made a shot at 300 yards.I was very surprised when the people who put on the event came to our house on Saturday (his 14th Birthday) and announced that he had won the 300 yard event and presented him with a range bag.

He had only hit one clay pigeon in his life and that was earlier this summer, He busted at least 5 at this event.

This boy has been working hard mowing the summer. He put a Remington 870 12 Ga on lay away which will be payed off this Saturday. One of the guys that he is mowing for has a brand new never fired CVA Wolf 50 Cal Muzzle Loader. He will have that 3/4 payed off this week.

I will post pictures of him when he gets both new Guns.
Very Proud Papa here.

Thank You
Robert

That's awesome. Good job continuing the shooting tradition.

Great to hear up
