I'd trade it all just to see a couple mug shots of some severely beaten individuals. I don't care much about the stuff with the exception of our mower... total loss around 4K-5k

We had it happen recently as well. They did not take items like generator, range finder binoculars and a lot of hand tools. Had not thought about them coming back with trailer etc to haul stuff away. Going back this week-end, hope all is well.

We checked gatesville this weekend and put the word out, but the sheriff thinks the guys are coming from Hamilton based on the path of burgleries. Need to check up there as well.
If you see an older husqvarna riding mower for sale, let me know.

Will do..You talk to Caraway or one of the deputies...

Coryell Deputy.. Dayton.
We're just on the south side of the county line

Gotcha...Didn't think about it because I don't do facebook but there is a Hamilton buy sell trade page that you might skim through and see if it's on there by chance....

I'll talk to my cousins, they live in Jonesboro, on the Coryell/Hamilton County line.

After a couple of break-ins and attempted break ins, the best advice I got was to make sure they can see inside your camper, camphouse, cabin, and make sure what they can see looks like you never leave a think there they could carry off and sell easily. Of course, that s cks, but it is better than the aggravation of replacing doors and windows (they even stole a window ac once...ripping out the aluminum window frame.)

We just started keeping everything in a couple of big totes that we never unpack. It takes under a minute to throw them in the truck when we get ready to go to the cabin.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Sorry for your loss. They stole my trailer in Dickens county last year. Cut my chains as the locks were heat treated. I would love to give the SOBes a well deserved reward as I cannot afford to replace it now that I'm retired and the insurance has 1000.00 deductible and the trailer was a 1000.00. I'd have no qualms in beating them to near death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coryell County Sheriff's office just made a huge burglary ring bust. Multiple thefts from multiple counties. They found a barn and a couple of those Conex Container boxes crammed full of stuff. You should check with them.

that's good to know

I am N.W of Coryell

back in July, they broke in my place and stole lawn equipments, rock bars and a bunch of other stuff... including a trolling motor I used for pond fishing
but they dropped it on the road on their way out. They cut the electric company 's lock as that's the only weak/brass lock on my gate.
They cut the tabs on the shipping containers to get in but couldn't cut the locks as they were tempered steel

They also dropped their own credit cards on my place

Name on the Card: Richard House Jr. (Thurston, age 31 , born 1986 )
lives in Round Grove TX (Comanche county). Was told by a local
that he's been caught selling stolen cattle before.

wouldn't surprise me if Richard is involved in a burglary ring.....

I reported his name to Comanche Sheriff (Deputy Ken Schultz )

Ken did some research and thinks this Richard is connected to other thefts in surrounding areas.

Unfortunately, when the deputy went to have a chat with him, he had already
left town and went to South Texas

Not sure of Coryell is considered south Texas, but it is south of me

Comanche County is a bit too close to me for comfort. Glad he has fled for time being. Like a lot of you, at my place, I don't leave much worth stealing, but as I said earlier, the worst part is the damage that can be done to the property.

I am investing in a security system now that barndo is complete, but also thought about posting a sign near door that says, "Property is under audio and video surveillance, if you can read this sign, you are being photographed. Also, we do not leave guns/ammo, medications, keys, or electronics of any value here when unattended. Move on and all I will do is keep your photo on record in case there are future problems."

Not sure if that would accomplish a single thing - thoughts?

I did have a trail cam mounted high on an electrical pole, they took that too

I now have:

1. trail camera with cellular text service, hidden 30 ft up in a tree
they can steal it if they find it, but hopefully it has already sent
pics of their vehicle/plate and faces

2. another trail camera hidden near gate to capture vehicle and plate

3. 4 ARLO wireless cameras inside , will record videos and email you

can view remotely on phone

4. 6 HD camera with night vision mounted outside structure, will record
videos and notify you with TEXT if motion detected

Can view remotely on phone

5. SimpliSafe wireless alarm system (door sensors, motion sensors) with monthly monitoring @ $!5

Probably the best investment you can make.
Cameras catch thieves, but Alarm Siren will
make them want to leave as soon as possible; add that with police dispatch... hopefully they
will be caught

Does have wireless cameras that you can view on phone

Thanks for the comment. We'll follow up with the deputy that made the report.

The sheriffs office actually called this morning to go over the items we're missing. There's some hope!

My buddy's lease got raided a week or so ago west of Jacksboro. Broke chains and into doors. Stole on 4 wheeler and other stuff. A couple of the guys on the lease are cops too so should be good.

**********Update***********

Sheriffs office called and asked us to come by next Friday to gather our things. Not all on the report was confirmed but we know they have some of our things. There's a lot of stolen inventory recovered according to the reports, so we'll just have to sort through next week with the office.

Hats off to the Coryell Sherriffs department for all their hard work!

I met a guy who did some time in prison for burglary of habitats. He targeted deer leases almost exclusively. He did it during the off season because he was less likely to bump into people. Also, he said hunters tend to leave nice things at the lease including guns. We've seriously considered a cellular game cam to monitor our camp area close to real time. Right now we have a couple of regular cameras hidden around the camp area.

Good luck, I hope you get most of it back. My ex boss had his house in the country broken into and they stole a few guns, some jewelry, etc., well the cops busted the people and recovered most of the stuff. When they went down to Police station, the most expensive rifle was not there (Weatherby 300 mag), cops said it wasn't recovered. Next week in the paper they do a story on the bust and there is a picture of all the stuff they recovered (picture taken at the police station), the weatherby was in the picture. Never got it back.

That's shady^^

Our expensive stuff has been confirmed like the riding mower.. little things like tools, backpacks, boots etc haven't been, but there's tons of recovered inventory.
The article I found stated they recovered appx 150k in stolen items.

They busted a man and a woman for it. Just found out I know the guy's parents. His mother was actually pretty high up in the TDCJ system before she retired. They're good people, but I'm guessing the boy got into the meth scene and it went south from there. I'm sure they are none too happy about it.

It's not the same name as you mentioned above.. but they believe this guy is part of a bigger ring.
