I wonder why they don't recommend applying ice around the bite area to slow down the blood circulation? There are a ton of do and do-nots out there. Everyone seems to be an expert. I talked with the snake guy that makes the circuit with the Hunter Extravaganza. He said to use one of them sucking syringes on the bite for the entire trip to the hospital and apply ice. He said ice would keep the venom from activating. For a guy that handled 20-30 snakes, his advise seemed to be opposite of some of the previous advise. Except for trip to the hospital.

The ice bag or pack keeps the venom localized and causes more damage to the affected area. If allowed to disperse it is less concentrated. The snake bite in reality is not going to kill you and allowing the venom to disperse is a better option. Not getting bit is the best option.
