.305 is what's on the box of 6.5 mm 140 ELD-M.

Seems one of those is wrong. I'd expect the 7mm to be a wider margin better than the 6.5

.313 is on my boxes and I have heard a few run that with good luck. Like I said it took small targets out past 700yds for me to notice.

Yup. Like I said these are very early runs so that could be the issue.

I want to say .320ish was or is on them now. Mine are pre tip color change so who knows. I trusted and shouldn't have. Worked ok in one match and bit me in another. My home range can throw funcky elevation due to terrain winds so I never had a solid verification.

I know exactly what you mean. Fortunately mine is flat, with the south tree line making a wall. But I've seen some weird things happen in the canyons in Camargo, Vici, and Elk City.

Yup similar terrain kinda. 0-400yds goes over a knoll peak of a wheat field and 400-1k is across a little valley. Plays heck for trying to read wind when you can't even see 1/2 the range terrain.

You're getting 2645 out of a 7 mm-08 with 162 grains? Man that's smoking!

Dude, that's with a 20" barrel and a mild load. Give it 24"+, and run the powder charge up a bit, and you'll exceed 2700, easy.

Go Ackley Improved, and 2800 would not surprise me. I'll know exactly what that combo will do, in a week or so.

2650 is spot in for hodgdon data. A few other sources has it a touch faster.

In a 20" barrel?

They test with 24" barrel. Reckon my 10" can is the same as 4 more inches of barrel?

I did get the same combo up to 2700 fps MV. Mist in the air showed me that was not such a good idea. peep

Not with a 20 but not with a match barrel and chamber job either.

Try some CFE 223 and Nosler 120's. That's one of my favorite powders. Good news if it works, you have a powder for your .223 and .308 loads too.
