I have never shot one so I am wanting as much information on the round as possible. One major concern is the level of recoil and what does it compare to. Thanks

Pretty mild. Like a 30/30. Or almost no recoil shooting suppressed subsonic.

Thanks. Have a friend with cancer and a port in his right shoulder. He plans to deer hunt this fall with the 300 Blackout. What would be your guess as to max distance?

Thanks. Have a friend with cancer and a port in his right shoulder. He plans to deer hunt this fall with the 300 Blackout. What would be your guess as to max distance? With supersonic ammo, out to 200 yards (unless you're Chad  ).

I shoot an AR in 300 BO and the recoil is about the same as a 223....basically nonexistent. It's way less than a 30/30, IMO.

Yes recoil is hardly noticable. In an AR15 probably half of a 30-30.
One shot is all it should take.

My son has been been shooting my 300blk AR with a muzzle brake since he was 5, and he's a little dude. With a good brake, the recoil is a fraction of a 30/30.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Recoil is very light. I run several 300 Blk Out rifles in AR-15 and Rem 700 bolt gun, all suppressed. Recoil is very mild and light. My son shoots it well, though he doesn't like shooting my Rem 700 over his own rifle.
Range, I'd say easy 200 yards with a 100 yard zero with supersonic ammo. I run a 125 grain SST and 125 Ballistic Tip for my hunting ammo, and they both kill whatever I hit with it. You're only going to drop about 6" at 200 yards from a 100 yard zero. The blk out has been my go-to hunting caliber for several years now. The main reason is it is a simple cartridge with low recoil, low round cost, 30 caliber, small rifle, plentiful ammo, and very effective on game. It's not going to win any awards in deer camp as a big magnum. But I don't a big magnum for TX hunting.

Which of your loads do you recommend for a 16", 1-7 for shooting deer and pigs? I need to try them out. .

Which of your loads do you recommend for a 16", 1-7 for shooting deer and pigs? I need to try them out. . This is Chads 125gr Nosler BT on a 250 pound boar out of an 8" 1:8 twist SBR suppressed. Dead right there never moved. My first video hog kill, so quality isn't the best and I was shaking a little from the adrenaline but got the job done. Video

Have shot a number of pigs and a few deer with Chad's 125gr NBT's. Usually shots are 100yds or under, no issues with accuracy or killing animals.
Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

Which of your loads do you recommend for a 16", 1-7 for shooting deer and pigs? I need to try them out. My Rem 700 is a 7" twist, 16" barrel. I like any of the 125 grain loads. The 125 grain bullets are going fast enough for perfect mushroom shaped expansion, and provide deep penetration. I have also used the 115 Berger ammo with good success. I've taken several coyotes and deer with the 115, but no pigs. It's a target bullet, so it will hold together very well. The 110 V-max would do fine for deer, but may be a little soft for a big pig, but I do know many hunters have taken pigs with the 110 V-max. I'd go 125 SST or 125 BT. It shoots good!
