I think I'm going to go ahead and buy a Team Wendy helmet largely due to their padding/strap system. If I buy another Airsoft helmet and do the same upgrades, I'm almost the same price. Their mount is for the Weaver style flip up that doesn't use the older clip in J-Arms which are cheap to get used. The new Wilcox shoe J-Arms are like $150 on ebay.

Anyone tried one of the Wilcox shoe-clip in J-Arm adapters? My only concern is it dropping whatever I have mounted potentially too low.

Makes you feel lonely when you have to answer your own post...

It would appear the Rhino II mounts that work with the clip-in J-Arms will also fit in a Wilcox helmet socket.

Are you talking about the older bayonet style connector vs the newer style dove tail?

They will not inter change. But the Norotos bayonet base can be removed and a dovetail base installed.

Or a cheap cadex style mount purchased that will do both for under $80

cadex mount nvg

Here's a Wilcox shroud shown on a Team Wendy.

My old helmet and most Airsoft helmet have these shrouds (note it doesn't have the tab in the middle).

The Rhino and Rhino II mounts use the clip in J-Arms

Here's a Wilcox mount, showing the underside where the J-Arm/Device will connect.

The Wilcox mounts use a shoe to connect the the J-Arm vs the clip in. More secure I assume, but they're alot more expensive. The IR Patrols use the Wilcox shoe for example

There is a Wilcox Shoe to Clip-In adapter being sold, but it will drop the overall assembly .5-.75" I'd guess, so depending on where your monocular sits it may be fine.

I had initially read the Rhino II mount would not clip into the Wilcox mount, meaning I would have to get new J-Arms, but that was apparently incorrect.

Since this is bit of a tutorial on Monocular mounts, there's also a guy on ebay selling a clip-on J-Arm Mount for use with Pulsar 19/38/50 Monoculars.

The wedge type mount is called a dovetail, all the new type of NVG use that type. Ir patrol as well.

The pyramid style is called bayonet, older NVG use this setup 80's, 90's.

I had initially read the Rhino II mount would not clip into the Wilcox mount, meaning I would have to get new J-Arms, but that was apparently incorrect.

The helmet NVG shroud should work with either of the mounts, wilcox or the norotos.

The newer style mounts have less wobble or play in them, and less cash in your pocket grin
