I have a real nice A-bolt II medallion I never shoot/hunt with because it bites on both ends.
I have no need to deer hunt with my 7mm and full power loads, but I have a mouflon hunt comming up this fall and think this is a good opportunity to put it into action. Was thinking of getting some custom lite from Hornady which mirrors the 7mm-08 ballistics almost to a "T"
Has anyone on here used the custom lite in that caliber?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I haven't used the 7mm Mag version of the Custom lite but have seen it used in the 7mm08 and it works as advertised. If the 7mag version mirrors the 7mm08 you are good to go on the hunt.
I have killed enough critters with the 7mm08 and 7X57 to have no doubt they would do the job

Echoing Kmon1, My daughter shoots the Hornady Lite in her 7mm-08 Browning X-Bolt Micro Midas. I believe it has a 129gr SST bullet. It kills very dead so far . shots were 100 yards +/- WT Deer, black buck and axis.
Definitely worth a try.
Or have a muzzle brake installed and wear muffs or plugs at "go time" . This is what she and I always do.
A muzzle break will works wonders.

A muzzle break will works wonders. I'm pro-muzzle brake but this rifle has a 26" barrel and a brake would add another 2". And I don't want the barrel cut to add a brake and have it the same length

I've shot the 7mm custom lite out of my Savage 110 with great success. Originally bought it when my son was younger but it turned out to be the best grouping factory ammo I've tried. Lately I've been trying full power loads and haven't seen them be as consistent. I'll probably either go back to the custom lite or start loading my own. Here's a buck my son shot in 2015 with the custom lite at 120 yds. Hit him right behind the shoulder and he went about 20 yds.

My daughter uses Custom Lite ammo in her 7mm-08. Seems to work fine within its limitations - which is the design goal. Sounds like a reasonable solution to me.

My son uses the custom lite in 7mm-08. Its ballisticaly similar to a 6.5x55 swede. The custom lite in 7mm Remington is basically a long action full house 7mm-08

Sure is! My daughter shot a heavy mature buck with her 7mm-08 using the HCL ammo - same result. He mule-kicked, plowed the ground for about 10-15 yards, and somersaulted over dead. 180 yards or so.

For light hill country deer it's about perfect within reasonable ranges. My son has a light howa with a 20" barrel. With the custom lite ammo it's not brutal but the recoil is noticeable. It's not kick-free. I'm nervous to move him to full power loads until a few more years have passed. As it is now it's about on par with my .270 using standard loads

Heck yea, I use them. I have a Browning A-bolt in 7 Mag and that's about all I shoot out of it lately. Me and my rifle love them. It is the most accurate factory ammo I've found for my rifle. Besides being easier on the shoulder, it doesn't waste nearly as much meat and the deer fall just as quick and just as dead as the full power rounds. As a bonus, it's easier on your barrel if you shoot it a lot. BTW, my rifle also has a 26" barrel and my chrono measured the bullet speed for these rounds at around 2950 fps. A little faster than advertised.
