We just went over one of them. And what models are you looking at, as both companies make many different types of rifles. Each have their pluses and minuses. Your posts are very vague.

I wouldn't touch a Kimber Montana with a 10 foot pole. You may get a good one, but you are just as likely to get one that needs lots of tinkering to make it shoot. A factory Tikka will easily shoot under 1', likely 1/2" with good loads and way less fuss.

I don't know if we are talking about Montana Rifle Company or another type of Montana.

I hate vague posts. IMO, they are worthless, because you get all kinds of random replies, and it still may not answer your question. It's like, "what's the better vehicle, Ford or Chevy?" Or "What's better, Blue or Green". Who the heck knows.

If it is Montana Rifle Company, I have been very impressed with mine. They basically are a reincarnation of the pre-64 Win M70, but with some significant improvements to safe gas handling and with the benefit of stainless steel actions, barrels and synthetic stock if one prefers. Have a 260, 308, and 300 WM. All have been excellent shooters right out of the box with zero work needed.

200 yards target from 300 WM.

I was looking at the Christensen Summit (their top line rifle). It seems like a solid rifle

I suggest you go on YOUTUBE, there are a bunch of tests and reviews on both rifles and companies.

For that kind of money my preference would go to the semi-custom package offered by Custom Reloads of Dallas and Fireman JG.
Ad can be found in the firearms for sale section here. P_102
