I'm looking at purchasing a property that does not have coop water and wells are spotty in the area. Have any on you have luck utilizing a pond/tank to pump water out of to supply your cabin/camper needs? If so, what's a ballpark cost for pump, holding tank, filtration system, etc. to make it work? I wouldn't be drinking this water, only showering etc. Thanks in advance.

Don't have any experience in what you are suggesting but numerous folks put 500 gallon tanks and hauled water in from town and it is relatively inexpensive.

The maintenance on the system you described would scare me.

Do you have electricity? How far is the cabin from the pond? There are many videos on Youtube that cover this. As stated above, if this is for occasional use, such as hunting season, it may be much cheaper to haul in your own water. I have looked into this, but never tried it. I do collect water from my gutters that fill three IBC totes, that hold about 300 gl each, but I just use the water for gardening, and do not need to filter it.

We have a 55g drum with a small pump hooked up to the k.s in the bunk house. It runs off a small solar charger. No showers while we're up there yet. Have you thought about rain water harvesting? Its Pretty simple.

This is your best option IMO.

Its not difficult.we use pumps on lakes for irrigation systems. Obviously you'll need electricity at the pump, a good pump with a filtration system I would expect $1500 then youul just need to run your water line to the house.
