Started as a savage 116. Kept action and trigger only.

Shilen varmint barrel 26 in 8 twist
APA little b brake
Accurate mag bottom metal and magazine
Boyd's coyote stock with adjustable cheek piece
Vortex viper pst 6-24x 50
Pillar bedded then bedded the action with devcon 10110

All work done by me.

The accurate magazine has a 3.85 length. Most are running the 195s around 3.75 or shorter. I should have plenty room.
Headed to range in a few minutes.

So I shot four 4-shot groups. Each group was .5 grains more of h1000. I did shot one fouling shot. Not sure why I didn't adjust the the zero after the fouling shot.

Thoughts or suggestions. I did this OCW style. One shot per group with 3 minutes between each shot. One of the pictures is after 3 shots. The 4 group grew with that shot

Getting there! Did you check velocity or pressure signs? Can you keep working up? The #4 group looks good, was the 4th shot a flyer?

No. The stray shot was the 1st shot I used to check the scope. All 4 rounds are touching in the forth group. Each circle is four shots.

No pressure and temp was 82. I think the speed is near 3100. I willl validate speed by drops next week

duck hunter,

I final shot the 195s I got from you. Best group was a .3moa and the worst was 1moa. Shot 5 groups with the195 and retumbo. Headed to France this week, but let me know when you want to shoot sometime.

Looks like the gun is holding at .3 or better.

I would say it is doing much better than when you first got started with it. Congrats on a fine shooting rifle and your part with it as well.
