Im left eye dominant but right handed. Which side should I shoot from? Dominant eye vs. more weight/speed with my right side. Or am I just over thinking this whole thing. I have yet to bow hunt or purchase a bow but would like to get into it soon.

Most are better off using the dominate eye, so in your case left

I would go with dominate eye of that is what your most comfortable with and the most accurate.

Ideally, if you shoot from the side of your dominant eye, you can shoot with both eyes open.
There are advantages to shooting with both eyes open, such as depth perception. It is possible to shoot very well from your strong hand side by sighting with one eye.
The dominant eye only controls your focus when both eyes are open.

There are some that the dominate eye is much more dominate than others. Some cannot shut their dominate eye without closing the non-dominate eye as well, those are much better off using their dominate eye.

I am right handed and left eye dominate but can shoot from left or right side and shoot nest from the right side when closing the left eye.

Thannks for the input yall. I will certainly try shooting from both sides. I can close my dominate eye (left eye) but it takes more work than the right. I guess my worry is giving up draw weight and essentially speed of the arrow if I shoot lefty. But with today's technology in compound bows should I really be too concerned with it?

I would say try both and ultimately choose what works the best for you.

I would not worry about the loss in poundage. Shooting from the left for you will feel awkward at first but it can be done and with practice and good technique you will be able to increase the poundage fairly quickly. I know some ladies shooting 37lbs and getting their deer every year.

Shoot from left and right side, it is pretty easy to figure out what works for you.

I popped a running pig out the window of my buddy's truck the other day with my AR left handed. Now a rifle is much easier to master than a bow. But the more you do it the better you will get at it. Practice.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

This was a question I had. I am right handed and left eye dominate.
I shoot handguns right handed, longguns left.

I got a deal on my first bow ever I could not pass up. But the bow was right handed. Guess I have to shoot to see. Excited for the challenge either way
