Hey, guys been on the forum for a couple of years mainly just watching and taking in the good advice. Last year was my first time ever hunting public land in Texas. I am hooked the challenge has me coming back for more!!!Been going hard after it this year in scouting and getting ready. Which leads me to my question. Do you use trail cams? how do you lock them up? I am already putting in the boot leather for scouting any other ideas or advice would be great!!!

Thank you for the time.

Absolutely, hang them high and angled down. Use a cable lock to help deter thieves, its not a guarantee but will deter many. A small pad lock for the sd card will usually work.

Dont set them on main trails or anywhere close to them where other people are likely walking. Dont invest alot of money in them, chances are they will disappear one day.

There are regulars that hunt the Pawnee unit and they use trail cameras and have established hunting areas per a gentlemen's agreement for their group. They have their name and phone number on their trail cams and a note requesting that you please leave things as you find them. You will run into some of them before long and you all can meet and share tactics. I meet a good number of them one summer and they seemed like a great group of guys. Good luck with your scouting and hunting this season.

cheers reason got on this hunting form cause enjoy my time in the woods, & enjoy chatting, reason came up with i'm postaddic at bottom... with my cams they only cost round, if remember around $25.00 hit sales at right time older cams... set them for pic every minute, sun-up sun-set... bout every 3-4 days week top, would take down, deer stands can only be up 48 hours or so, never did see anything bout cams, reason said at own risk...
not every one can afford the prices of leasing, ones I were on $200.00-$250.00 a year, prices got too high, as said, twas a Blessing when one down the road opened up ...

up Booner1 on the gentlemans agreement it makes it a better place ta hunt... flag
