Hello all,

I have a Savage Trophy Hunter 111 in 25-06. It came with a Nikon 3-9x40. Its a bit challenging for my eyes at 150 to 200 yards. I never hunt or shoot past that distance.

Is this Vortex Crossfire II a good upgrade in 4-12x50?

Thanks all for your input

I wouldn't call a Crossfire an upgrade over anything but a bubble pack scope such as BSA and Tasco.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I'd look at a Leupold VX1 4-12x40. You can find them ~$200 if you shop.

Come on, I wouldn't say they are way better. But they are better than BSA.

Sorry, I read that out of context. I re-read again today and see that now.

If I was going to spend money to upgrade, I'd go to the next level of scopes past that. JMHO

Better optics are a wise expenditure.

go to store and look at some scopes, pick the one YOU like.
i have a crossfire ll 6x18 44 on a 308 have no problem
some where it came to be that more money means better, may be true if you want to spend $800 and up to shoot 200 yards
This just MY opinion.

I own a few crossfire scopes and they are very nice for the money. All have put meat in my freezer so who am I to say they are not good?
