I think/thought ithe scatter node was at 39.9 or between 39.9-40.2.

Kev1. Any chance of you shooting 42.3 and 39? I'll PM you.

I'm afraid 39gr would be a little slow. But I can do 42.3gr.
Do you want me to just load a bunch of 42.3gr and do chrono and targets or do an OCW from 41.7 to 42.3?

If I felt good shooting the previous groups, I don't shoot the whole thing again. 4 shoots at 40.8, 43.3 and 43.6 if no pressure.

Shoot the 40.8 at 200 or 300. I'm curious.

43.3 and 43.6 at 100 yrds

I thought I’d provide an update on this.
At this point H4350 is available and the barrel is settled with around 1k rounds. I also changed my philosophy a little bit. The gun is accurate with whatever load you use and I don’t feel like chasing the lands.

So I did a quick load development a few month ago with H4350 and settled on 39.7gr (I'm getting 2675 FSP with 147 ELD and that's enough. I can get much more speed but I don't really care to go higher)
A couple of weeks ago, and without chasing the lands I was confirming my zero at 100Y and I shot this 5 shot group.
Conclusion: I’m not shooting BR, I shoot off a bipod and should not waste time in getting the PERFECT load.

Nice rifle and nice shooting. Slightly off topic do you mind giving some feedback on that scope?

Let me start by saying that I love this scope. I’ve read some people saying that the glass exhibits too much chromatic aberration, but I don’t notice anything that bothers me.

First, I’d say the scope does cover the basics. The glass is good, tracks true and has nice/crisp clicks on the turret.

Now to what I really like about this particular scope:
I have the model with the windage on the left. The benefit is that with my left eye I can immediately check the level and windage at the same time.
It has the SKMR reticle with a floating dot in the center. The dot is very small and becomes visible only past 10 magnification. It’s perfect for accurate shots as you don’t have the thick reticle issue that most FFP scope have at high magnification
Little eye fatigue: The parallax setting is very forgiving. You set it up at 600Y and everything is in focus between 300Y to past 1000Y. The eye box is large so you can get a clear and quick picture. It also has good glass. The combination of these 3 factors is that it’s pretty easy on the eye.

Thank you for taking the time. That scope has been on my list for a few years now. Every time I go to buy it I get something different. I haven’t convinced myself to pony up yet but when I do everyone here will tire of hearing about it. In the meantime the SS 5-20HD and the VX-6 3-18HD that I’ve bought instead have both impressed me. I just don’t think they’re on the same playing field as the Kahles.

I also have an SWFA 5-20 scope. While it does track true and won’t make you miss anything, the turrets, glass, eye box and parallax are better on the Kahles by a wide margin. Both are nice scopes and will do the job at long range, but it’s not faire to the SWFA to be compared to a scope that is almost 3 times more expensive.
