Well future predator

Was out walking around last night looking for hogs, coons, and coyotes and stumbled upon a gray fox den. There were 3 little foxes but this one was curious and let me get within about 5 ft. Cool little creatures. I did kill a coon and 15 jack rabbits though.

Cute little fellow. I like having them around.

Good job Sapper. Normally they just kill rodents.

Is there a reason to kill jackrabbits? Do you eat them?

my buddy doesn't want them on his place and there are tons of them. He didn't say why he doesn't like them he just said if you see em kill em. I figured maybe they dig holes in his pastures or something

Foxes get a pass at our place. They're neat animals and get after rodents.

For a cattle operation, you bet. You can run an extra cow for each 40-50 jackrabbits you remove.

I have shot one. I thought he was stalking my "pet" house raccoon - in hindsight he was probably just stalking the bread I had put out for the coon.

He made a beautiful mount, but I won't ever shoot another.

Ive shot a couple adults as well but don't really have interest in it at this point, they are cool animals kinda like bobcats. Now if I seen a big bobcat in winter coat id pop it for a mount.

I've shot one, I only shot it because I was bow hunting and thought it'd make a cool mount. I was right, shot him at 32 yards with a 2 blade rage.

Probably will never shoot another one though.

Dang good looking fox mount.
My daughter had thrown some old bread out near a feeder thinking she might attract some pigs with it and the leftovers. This fox would come out and get a slice of bread about every five minutes and haul it off. It got to where we would put out bread for the fella, and sure enough he (or she?) would almost always show up and haul off a pile, one slice at a time. We did this occasionally for well over a year, till I no longer hunted there.
