 Broken Piggy pipe

Found two of my Piggy pipes broken this weekend. The pipes have been empty for a while. But had a false section with gravel in it. The hogs had broken the end caps off and dragged the pipe about 20 feet away. Im guessing the sun weaken the end cap.

Not trying to be a jerk but sounds like poor construction.
The key to keeping the pipes from breaking is swivels and lots of them.

Eventually a pig pipe will break. It happens. I've got swivels at both ends of my chain, but stuff still occasionally breaks.
I carry a spare cap, eye bolt, locknuts, and a few tools in my truck because it happens to at least one pipe every year or two. Mostly, the hogs get the chain wrapped around the T-post, keep pushing and break the cap or eye bolt.

It has been working great for me for quite a while.

Instead of attaching the chain/cable to the cap, put a bolt/rod through the pipe about 5 inches below the cap, through a swivel, cable attached to the swivel and only have your cable running through the cap. Too much stress to attach the pipe assembly only via the cap. I'm doing the above also utilizing the false bottom. This ^ is a good idea.

I use a 8" eyebolt and a 6" HD SPRING( 2 old 3" valve springs had laying around) & washers inside the cap; reduces the SHOCK forces (which PVC cannot handle) when cable gets yanked tight
