I am getting back into hunting motivated by a friend and my 14 yr old daughter. I thought I had read a regulation that you couldn't skin and/or field dress you game until you got to your final destination. However, after trying to find that hunting reg, I don't see it. I recall it may have been something about protecting commercial fur trappers, but again, I could just be way off.
Also, not sure but it may have been in an OK, AR, or LA hunting regs since I had looked at those at one time recently as well.
Can someone confirm if it is ok to field dress, skin, and quarter your small game (squirrel, rabbit) at the hunting site, especially public lands, WMAs, etc and not have to wait until you get home?
Thanks much!

As far as I know there are zero regulations surrounding small game and skinning/quartering.

Thanks. I am thinking I mixed something up with other states I was looking to hunt at. Regardless it seemed like an odd reg. anyways.

Agree with Rex as above, however you cannot go further than guartering. This must be done when you reach final destination.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't expect to do more than field dress and skin. I'll let the wife see what she can pull from each squirrel and rabbit for any recipe.
