Hey guys. This is my second year to hunt on Grayson County. We had some really nice bucks on camera last year but almost all activity was at night. Seeing a few deer at feeders a month ago but the hogs have moved in and the deer seem to stay away from the feeders if the hogs are on it. We are going to put pens around the feeders to see if that helps. Most of the deer seem to be more interested in the food plots over the feeders. Is that your experience as well? Any info is helpful to get these deer moving during daylight hours.

Pressured deer are more nocturnal. Do all you can to limit movement on and around your lease during deer season. Walk to your stands and park as far away from them as possible. No buzzing around in ATVs or pickups when it isn't absolutely needed. Spin your corn 2 hours before sunset and 30 mins after first light. Shoot your hogs and coyotes well (months) before deer season and then let them be during the season. Putting up a hog proof pen will let deer feel more at ease around your feeder. If all else fails, bucks will lose their nocturnal ways during the rut.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

I had a place for 4 years in Grayson County. Never had much activity at feeders from deer.

Just be prepared for rut to kick in, that is when most of the bucks were moving during the day.

The place had a bad hog problem when I started hunting it but they started disappearing rapidly and the deer started taking their place.

I hunt hogs around 4 times a week in Grayson County. The pigs are everywhere and in high numbers this year. I have seen very few deer as they were not in the wheat. My friends that deer hunt up here never gets them on camera much this time of year but does in the fall feeding season.
