Just want to put this notice out to polaris owners. I noticed small spot of oil in my shop under my ranger (O'chit here we go). I just got back from work (28 days overseas) and my wife and kids ride it in the yard and pasture while I'm gone. Lifted the bed and the oil filter was caked with dust and oil so I thought the filter O-ring was leaking, negative. Jacked it up about 2ft and blocked it, removed the skid pan which is a PIA, degreased the oil pan, cranked it and let it run, no leak, left over night, next morning a very very fine film of oil on the pan, got the tools out and discovered the fricken oil pan bolts were a little more than hand tight. Any way the under carriage got a good coat of Mobil1 on it I guess it'll preserve it and keep it from rusting. O'yeah, had to replace 4 of the bolts for the skid plate due to galding and run a tap in the holes.

Polaris makes some nice machines but QC issues like this seldom get covered by their pitifully short 6 month warranty. They ought to have to fix stuff like this. Good thing you have the mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair yourself!

I agree. Their warranty and customer service is pitiful..... line of sight mostly. I've seen reverse explode on a brand new not even one day old yet and Polaris not warranty it.... the tires were not even dirty yet.

Think about it. Six month warranty?? Means they know their product is poorly made. Had 3 of them. Never again. Junk IMO. Each one I bought got worse and worse

You can't fix stupid

Found another issue, one of the rubber hoses is cracked causing oil to sweat and collect dust.

Just sold my 2012 and upgraded to a diesel Kubota.

That was my second one and really got fed up with having to deal with one break after another.
