Would you pick a wood/metal-sided exterior blind or a fiberglass blind w/ life of me warranty? Same size, same price.

I would go fiberglass, maintenance no brainier. Weight might be a factor between the two if that is important.

I would go wood with metal siding. Fiberglass is lighter weight and possibly easier to damage. Wood would be easier to fix, you. An add things to it without worry of messing it up (shelves, hooks, etc) and is less hollow sounding. Have had fiberglass and wooden blinds, fiberglass I had multiple layers of carpet on the bottom
And still had to be very careful with noise whereas the wood was solid and didnt make as much noise for a given movement or adjustment.

I use the Hardie cement board siding. It's heavy. It's tough to cut. It's $30 per 4x8 panel. but it's tough and weather resistant. It's takes about 2 spray cans of painter panel.

Pros and cons to both. Fiberglass last longer, but can be blown over much easier and thus damaged in the process.

Fiberglass here. Have had both. Anything with wood, framing or the skin, will require maintenance over time. And, when built right they are very heavy. A good Fiberglass blind (like my BOSS) requires minimal maintenance, offers inherent insulation qualities, and can be made to be very quiet. And, by the nature of their construction they are sealed up everywhere except the windows and doors (fewer bugs and critters). If it's a lease situation where you may have to move it down the road Fiberglass is MUCH easier to relocate. But as said above you just have to anchor them extra good because they will blow over and get damaged if not.

My blind is 5x8. I can move it around with 2 men, and 4 men can place it on top of my 7' tower. Try that with a wood/metal blind.

To the OP: not all Fiberglass blinds are created equal. Make sure do your research.
