Reaper Rest works there, too.

These are nice. Definitely not in Bubbas price range.

I use a Bog Pog Tripod for walking around and Bog Pog shooting sticks for the blind. I put a Caldwell shooting bag on the window seal and the shooting sticks on the stock. Provides a rock solid rest.

I use the Caldwell Deadshot FieldPod. The thing is portable and worth every penny. For my crossbow in my blind I use the Primo’s Trigger Stick Monopd with a Vortex Picatinny Rail Tripod Adapter Mount. It’s basically a screw in camera base to tripod adapter with a picatinny rail mount on the top. Makes it a lot easier to hold my Mission MXB-360 crossbow at the ready.

I've been really happy with the reaper grip. I sell a ton of them and I use them every time I hunt. They're awesome and incredibly durable. Mine flew off the roof of my mule doing about 40 and bounced down the road. A ball head type unit wouldn't have survived.

My brother took a old camera tripod, got a piece of PVC pipe, cut in hale longways about 4 inches long, where it was just a little valley, epoxy'd it to the tripod, works perfect.

I have the Primos tripod (Gen 2 or 3, I forget). I've used it in lots of different conditions, from pop up blind, to spot and stalk/glassing at around 600 yds. It's a good rig. Adjusts easily, even on steep slopes. It's a bit heavier than some other rigs, but in my opinion, worth it for the stability.

I'm also interested in a tripod; for use when sitting in a chair in the pop-up blind and also occasionally sitting on my butt. What height tripod would be best? I plan to carry it quite a bit along with other gear, but don't see myself shooting from the standing position.

What size did you buy?

I got the 24-62 inch model. I'm 6'3", so I needed something tall enough that I could still use from a standing position. This is the one I have:

Love this thing!

3 - 5/8" diameter x 72" long wooden dowel rods from Lowes for $3.76 and a bicycle tube tying them together works pretty well. ~$15 total investment.

I have some that are hand made. 3/4 plastic pipe with a small bolt holding them together with an old leather belt to rest the rifle on. You can set your own height. Mainly use them sitting on the ground calling using the fox-pro. Very light but solid and steady. Put a cap on the end and drill a hole for a screw and it won't slip on the ground or hard dirt.
