Just curious if anybody has any experience/opinions on higher poundage bows. I have a couple things on my bucket list that may require such along with some heavy arrows and beastly broadheads...... Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mathews makes a Monster Safari edition or something along those lines. I know you can get 80lb limbs on Bowtechs and Hoyts straight from the factory. I would highly recommend looking at the arrows and broadheads that Grizzly Stik has to offer for large/dangerous game. http://www.grizzlystik.com They probably also have some good advice on heavy draw weight compound bows that can handle those shafts. I have a buddy that shoots them out a 70lb bow with devastating results on whitetail.

Now I'm curious just what's on your bucket list haha
Those grizzly sticks are the real deal. Seen a Cape Buff go down with a 950gr setup from them with a 70lb bow

My PSE came from the factory with 75 pound limbs. If I can't take it down with that it may not be meant to be.

I had a Darton Viper that drew 83 pounds back in the day. I thought that was normal.

With the multiplicity of the options for the best compound bows, many may end up deciding in haste. Nonetheless, at all times, you have to decide beyond price.

I cant budge a 70# bow string. you guys are strong!! I still can. But after what I spent on shoulder reconstruction I choose not to. I can easily draw a 60lb recurve. I'll shoot 50. Enough is as good as a feast.

Anything from 80 and upwards I would recommend Bowtech. My last bow that I bought was an Elite Envy in 90# had plenty issues with limb's on it, so much so that Elite replaced the 90# for a 80# Synergy.
I have friend who shoot Bowtech 100# and never had any issues at all.

You have accidental dry fire with 80# limbs it will be obvious and know you have some damage to bow! I'm a wuss and 58-60 is all I want to pull back. There was guy working at bow shop here(when we had one) that had Bowtech with 80#limbs and he was slinging 900 plus weight arrows. He had alot of issues with limbs coming apart till the sent him complete new bow, think problem went away.
Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock! 12/26/03-10/25/13

I just had a new 80 pound bow set up built for my bucket list which happens to be a Cape buffalo hunt I am going on in May. I went to the DSC show talked with a lot of guys and there is a couple different directions you can go on this. You don't need an 80 lb bow. I know a couple one guy that used 67 and another that used 70. 80 is better and recommended but some people can't pull it. You need to have the right set up I talked with a bunch of guys personally that have done this hunt. Couple things you need to make sure you have the right arrow broadhead combo. Mine ended up being 175 gr. Fixed 2 blade single bevel head by Strickland archery, Easton fmj dangerous game arrows, 75gr copper insert, stainless steal arrow sleave, 4 inch veins fletched accordingly. I ended up being 804 gr set up out of an 80lb bow. I only shoot 224 ft per sec, but have like 98 lb of kinetic energy. The grizzly sticks are nice and I wanted them but they didn't perform that well in my set up. I can shoot accurately to 50 yds with my bow and that is far enough for me. If you have any questions pleas le let me know. I am no expert but have done a lot of research and am more that happy to help. Thanks
