Looking at a lease near Aspermont. Looking for first hand knowledge of what amenities are in or near Aspermont. Any good restaurants or motels? Where and how far? Thanks in advance!!

Well....you got Hickman's motel and the one across the street we always stay in. For food you got Hickman's cafe, Dairy Queen or allsups....lots of options!

there buffets can be hit or miss but in general yes it's pretty good - solid breakfasts and the burgers are legit. Very rarely do we eat at Dairy Queen unless Hickman's is closed.

Hamlin has a motel on the south side of town, never stayed there, looks like 1 "star" accommodations, but can't say for sure. They do have a good café, Flores on the main drag, north side, we have stopped there a few times. Hamlin is about 20 minutes south of Aspermont. If you have a travel trailer, Hamlin also has a 1 "star" RV park.

Next closest is Abilene, all kinds of stuff here, but that is around 60 miles from downtown Aspermont.

Hickman's hotel over the Budget Inn and Hickman's restaurant is good. I stayed at Hickman's Hotel the first year I was on my lease. You'll likely have a hard time booking a room for opening weekend of dove season at this point. You can also throw down some Allsup's burritos to change things up.

Do yourself a favor and put a hog/cattle panel pen around your feeders. Hogs are plentiful and will eat every bit of your corn.

Rotan Dairy Queen is best around #2 with cheese. Call the orders in and no wait. The one in Aspermont not worth a poop.

The worst stomach ache I ever had came on an all-night varmint hunt following dinner at Hickman's. Whew! made me sweat thinking about it again.

I have a quail lease and camp between Aspermont and Rotan. I have been there now for 4 years. Take your own food. That is your best choice. Not much to choose from.

There is great Mexican food to go only in a liittle purple shack across from Allsupps. Closed Sunday and Monday. Only serves breakfast and lunch closes at 2:00. The only option worth mentioning in Aspermont.

We hunt off CR 438 about 15 mins north of Rotan and we call in our orders when we hit the pavement. Always hot and fresh right when we pull up.
