I am trying to help our lease manager fill three spots on our lease in San Augustine county. It is 882 acres of private property, used to grow timber, with six members. Cost is $850, annual lease, year round access. Let me see if I can dig up some game camera pictures to post.

I was wondering if anyone would ask that. I have some but I will have to look for some. I missed a really big seven point last year on an afternoon hunt when my gun misfired- never had that happen before.

I have a few. Last season I set most of my cameras to take video instead of pictures and I don't know if you can post those.

Just got an update. One other member has informed the lease manager that work this fall will probably keep him from having much opportunity to hunt so he is giving up his spot. So now there are four spots to fill.

Whoever is interested can look at this as a blank slate- no presetup areas to hunt. We were a new bunch that got on two years ago so we found the spots that we wanted to hunt and set them up. Now that there is only two of use staying with four spots open you can go in without having to be stuck with some spot that may not suit you. As long as you avoid the lease manager's area and my area (and I can show where those are) you are free to go in and find your own place to set up.

Like a my mother used to tell me nate33... careful what you ask for cause you just might get it. No reason to ruin it for others.

I simply pointed out that the price is about 1/3 of what it would be in West or South Tx,,,, sorry that the truth upset some of the snowflakes -----

I think that the issue is too many times a posting for lease openings ends up about an editorial about lease costs or number of hunters on the posted number of acres, based on opinion. If you are interested in a lease that is posted then post your interest. If you think a price is out of whack or there are too many hunters then start your own thread or hit the back button. Just sayin....

While showing the lease Saturday to a new member I got a better look at the effects of the current thinning that is going on. It is really opening up some new spots that would make terrific hunting and food plot areas. Also, we have several pipelines that nobody is hunting.

Well, just talked to the lease manager kicking some ideas around and he has decided to make me lease secretary.... cool He did say that we are allowing every member to set up two stand areas and family or guest can hunt with member, hunt from their other stand, and their harvest will go against the lease members legal limit. Working on some basic rules will have shortly for anyone who requests them.
