Buttermilks for the win so far! Had a burger at dairy palace earlier and it wasn't bad but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $14 again for a double meat burger with onion rings and a medium drink..wont be back

What is your daily food allowance?

Try the pizza place right across from Buttermilks, it's better than piza hut & Jerry's pizza. Down Home cafe is pretty good for breakfast & lunch but they're not open for dinner most days. If you try the taco shack on 19 get the Al Pastor up

Bakers Ribs on the SW side of hwy 19 & I-20. I had a sliced brisket sandwich which was way good, lots of tender juicy meat stacked on. I have a thread in this same topic area called Bakers Ribs. Lot of people rave about the fried pies. check it out.

BTW what are you doing in Canton, tornado stuff?

good thing you didn't have ice cream. You'd been looking at $20.

The Shed in Edom is worth the short drive. BE SURE to get pie. They do a good chicken fried steak.

From someone who lives in Canton..... I have found Backwoods BBQ the best BBQ in town. Located on 243 west beside EE steakhouse. Beans and Burgers on 198 just south of 243 intersection a few hundred yards on the left is one of my go to's. Tacos Y Mas on hwy 64 east of 19 about half a mile on the north side of the road is good for quick tacos....I like Ochoa's for mexican food. Robertson's Ham on I20 and FM 47 west of town is really good catfish buffet on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays. The others mentioned above are all good too. OH! if you have time, it'll be worth it to go up to Edgewood and eat at the Lumberyard Cafe on Hwy 80 across from the schools.

Dairy palace is good, but agree with OP, pricey.

We usually meet my parents at Jalapeno Tree. I love that queso flameado with bacon added to it.

Dairy palace is okay food, but beware of the ice cream. I went through the drive through one day just for an ice cream cones for my wife and I. I was a little surprised when two cones cost ten bucks and change for regular old Blue Bell.

a double meat burger with fries and a drink was almost $14 and the same type burger at Whataburger was $7 cheaper and tasted better. once was enough for me going to that over-priced place
