running a 11.5 in bison barrel... what ammo would you guys run for hunting hogs 100-200 yards?

Hornady in 120 gr. seems to be the standard go to. I'd say pretty much any bullet placed in the head/neck area is going to put them down though. Don't get too hung up on what ammo to use. It will ALL work if you hit head/neck area.

My son shot a pig with a 22-250 with a 55 gr. V-max.. The LAST bullet on earth you should be using for killing pigs, but he shot it right in the ear-hole and that pig was dead before he hit the ground. He did not even do the normal "shuffling" that they do after they are down.. He was just dead instantly.

You'll get all types of recommendations though.. Barnes all copper work well if they shoot good in your gun. I personally shoot the Hornady 120 gr. SST's. They work, just like any/all other bullets work. I do like the decisive "THUMP!!!" they make when they hit pigs though.

A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

I would be looking for speed from a 11.5 inch barrel so 85 or 95 gr bullet would be best for that application.

you really need to shoot a few different ones and see what shoots best in your gun. Every gun is different.

85 gr or 95 gr barnes is where I would start

GO TRUMP!

110 grain Nosler Accubonds are working great for me. Handloads out of an 18" barrel are shooting 1/2 inch MOA at 100 yards. I have had a Barrett mag issue, but other mags work well.

Hornady 120 grain SST. It has proven to be an extremely leathal round on hogs, deer and coyotes.

95gr Barnes TTSX or the 100gr Accubonds.
Can't go wrong with either.

My rifle likes the 115 Fusion. The pigs, not so much.
