Up, up and away

That's hunting from balloon not to be confused with hunting for balloons

Yummmmm to each their own, but wouldn't be anymore effective than a tall box bind IMO. Sort of a silly law if you ask me.

Not what I thought. I'm always finding those mylar helium balloons around the property like they concentrate deflating or attracted to the iron ore rock. From party, birthday wishes, get well, even had a black "RIP Herman", and a freaky giant thumbs up. Every few months one will be found tangled up in some briars.

One shot is all it should take.

I'm sure that 3 or 4 people will benefit from this legislation; but there's certainly no harm in it. A tethered ballon would make an excellent shooting platform when there's little or no wind. You could see for thousands of yards.

Seems like a waste of resources to even try and make this legislation.

I don't understand. Does Texas currently have some law that prevents shooting a hog from a tethered balloon? Why would a law needed be needed to allow something that one would assume to be perfectly legal anyway?

If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you.

I didn't see anything in the article about tethered balloons. Hunting feral hogs from balloons is not something that I would assume to be perfectly legal. Discharging firearm's from aircraft in general is not something that I would assume to be perfectly legal.

H.B. 3535 amends the Parks and Wildlife Code to authorize a qualified landowner or landowner's agent, as determined by Parks and Wildlife Commission rule, to contract to participate as a hunter or observer in using a hot air balloon to take depredating feral hogs or coyotes under the authority of a permit to manage wildlife and exotic animals from aircraft. The bill requires the commission to adopt rules as necessary to implement the bill.

Baboon hunting in Texas requires special permit. The High Fence Ranches that sell Baboon hunts charge very high prices. The Baboons climb the fences and they have to keep replacing them. I do not think it is legal to hunt Baboons from Balloons tethered or otherwise.

Also...there have been reports that some of the escaped Baboons have sexually assaulted hunters in the field. The Baboons were incorrectly identified as Sasquatch by those attacked. A spokesperson for Sasquatches is demanding a public apology for the allegations.

There are no laws in Texas against Sasquatch hunting from Balloons.

Had to pass a law to allow that too.
