They'll be up here in September as we're shelling 1k acres of corn..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

True dat BigAL33. Boy after last years big let down, and it was the worst year ever since I have been here(20 yrs). It is looking GREAT this year for the birds. I have been seeing 30+ birds on the crd everyday. And the birds that are flying over the fields, well I have been shooting the clay birds to keep from going crazy. Hope they stay around!!

I am an old fart and depend upon family to provide the hunting. I used to provide, but it is their turn. #1 SIL has just informed me (with a lowered head) that opening day this year will find him on a plane to Martha's Vineyard for a wedding. My question was, "Who is dumb enough to get married the opening weekend?" Turns out to be a young man that had to have someone come in and feed the family dog while his parents were out of town a few years ago. Enough said.
Our hope is that the cold rains lay off for at least a couple of weeks while we make up for lost time. Daughter and SIL's place is crawling with birds this year. They have several former wheat fields in sunflower and dove weed. Plelnty of water

On the 2 trips we have taken in the last 2 weeks I cannot remember seeing so many sunflowers that will need shredding for dove season. On our place we have an old wheat field that will be shredded, and with it sitting between 2 tanks, it should be an easy limit.
