VERY nice!
What are you thoughts on the 7/300wm vs the 28nosler?

We debated a lot about going 28 vs 7/300wm. We looked at several factors.
1- brass cost and availability. 28 nosler is expensive at about $3 a piece. Norma 300 wm brass is about $1.10.
2- case volume. The nosler holds about 79-81 grains of powder for the 195 grain. The 300 wm holds about 75-78 grains of powder with the same 195 grain bullet. The case volume is very similar.
3- 7/300 wm chambering. Both rifles in the picture were chambered with the new PTG bore rider technology reamer that has a double stepped throat for better bullet alignment. This also allows for an increase in powder capacity and longer bullet seating, which closes the gap between the two.
4- loading and sizing brass. Since I already load for the 300 wm with high end match grade dies, I have all the FL, neck sizing, and bushing dies. The sizing of 7/300 wm brass is as easy as installing the proper neck bushing to size for 7mm, about a $15 cost.
Comparing all factors, the 7/300 was very attractive. I'm running the 195 at 3020 fps, and got it up to 3098 fps, but with some pressure signs. The 28 nosler is about 3050 to 3100 also, maybe 3150 with the right powder and barrel length.
It was a debated topic, for sure. I have been impressed with the 28 nosler, just not the higher cost.

That is incredible Chad. 1,715 beats my confirmed dope by only 1,015 yards lol. Very nice rig Are you shooting off the suspension of the trailer or raising those jacks on each corner to steady the platform?

Correct, each corner on the trailer has a Jack that we use to stabilize and firm up the trailer. It works well. Thanks!!

Would have thought that umbrella would have pushed the trailer around in the wind.
I am still amazed at what some folks can do with a rifle.

I am still amazed at what some folks can do with a rifle. The wind was light, but it would move some when we were moving around on the trailer or a stiff breeze hit us. If you wait it out, it settles down and makes for a steady shot. Come with us sometime! I have 2 rifles now to play out there- 300 Win Mag and new 7mm/300 WM.

Cost and brass availability is exactly why I'd go with the 7/300!
Who put your rifle together? Mind sharing the specs?

Sure. Tony with ZG Customs put it together for me, who does most of my builds. Specs are:
7mm/300 Win Mag with the PTG bore rider throat (more lead, higher speeds and better bullet alignment) Big Horn long action, magnum bolt face McMillan Game Scout stock Bartlein 1:8" twist barrel, finished at 27.5" (About a #4 or #5 contour, I'd have to look it up) Harrell's muzzle brake H S Precision detachable bottom metal 20 MOA rail 5.5-22 Nightforce mil/mil
Ammo is Norma 300 Win Mag brass (brass weight sorted), Retumbo powder, Fed 215M primer, Berger 195 EOL running right at 3013 fps avg.
