You can't ruin a oyster, but why mess with perfection? Raw is best.

I've tried and will again all the raw stuff but remain unconvinced
that this is better than properly marinated or dressed and grilled.

Think the Gulf shell oysters are now out of season or not supposed to be as good?? No "R" in the month?

Last ones I had on the halfshell were the pasteurized ones, yuck !!!!! Just not the same as right off the boat in New Orleans

The gallons are always good, love them fried, po boy

Raw outta the shell and the liquor goes with it. Nature's perfect seasoned serving dish.

Never had grilled but would surely eat them. I'll eat Oysters on the half shell or fried. Love them. There are never any leftovers for breakfast though but I would eat them then too.

A fellow coworker while we were in New Orleans on a trip ate a dozen raw oysters and drank 3 I think it was quarts of if I remember correctly a beer called "Mississippi Mud". Worst looking puke I have ever seen.

Took a few dozen up to the property months back with a chili butter I made, put them on the grill unshucked until they pop, little dab of butter and let it melt in with the liquor food

Fried oysters or raw oysters are great but my favorite is oysters Kilpatrick. Hard to go wrong with a dish that has oysters and bacon

Same here except for fried oysters...with the addition of....

JiB tacos, deep fried state fair corn dogs, frito pie, and steak (OMG..never in a million years would I have thought)

The past couple years, I've developed a serious substance abuse problem that came out of nowwhere. The substance being a large can of Jacque Clemente Whole Pickled Jalapeno Peppers salted liberally. In one sitting.

My mouths watering. brb
