Thursday afternoon I hear my little beagle/collie mutt going nuts. Went to see what she was on about and there was this raccoon swaying around half in the creek. Ran to the house and grabbed my 12 GA and when I came back, they were in a full on fight. It had hold of her scruff and she had it by the back end. Did you know dog/coon fights are NOT stationary? I chased them up the hill and when it dropped off, blasted it. Luckily it was very weak and didn't do hardly any damage to her. I think it might have been sick so got both dogs a Rabies vaccine booster, just in case. What a ***!! realmad

Well I guess that raccoon missed the HWY's deer hunt thread and didn't know how you can shoot. Good job on the critter and taking care of the pup up

Coon had to learn the lesson the hard way laugh One less pest I have to worry about around the new chicks!

Thanks, Stub. Good to be back! It's been a really hectic time but I think things are finally smoothing out.

The dogs seem no worse for wear- it didn't get a real good grip on either one of them. I'm not too worried about them getting sick as they're vaccinated plus got a booster. Good to know they'll actually fight off a critter if need be, though!

Darn nice work. Ive heard of raccoons drowning dogs. Looks like y'all got lucky, and straight shooting took care of the rest.

Nothing like a little PDX1 12 to find the off button, haha!
