Have a couple in the freezer and can't decide how I want to cook them. Fry, smoke, grill..? Any suggestions? 1st time preparing rabbit myself.

Buttermilk chicken fried is how I do meat rabbits.

2nd is in a rabbit pot pie.

My favorites are:

Fried with hot sauce,
Simmered in a brown gravy then over rice,
Rabbit sauce piqaunt,
Rabbit gumbo,
Rabbit and dumplings,
Marinated in citrus and grilled or smoked w/indirect heat then glazed with strawberry preserves at the end,
Split in half, put on a stick, and roasted over a camp fire.

Never had wild rabbit that wasn't dry and tuff that wasn't parboiled or braised.

mom used to German fry em, low heat, little oil, roll in flour, drop in grease, cover to hold moisture in ...
