You can get into digital NV pretty inexpensively, Buzz. If you try it, you might be inspired to stay awake until 10 PM. Maybe even later.

NV is great if you want to see in the dark. But thermal is the way to go if you plan to hunt in the dark.

Night hunting isn't for everyone, but I really enjoy it. I can't justify the price of thermal for the probable amount of usage, but mid-tier NV is reasonable for me. The way that the price of thermal is diving, I'll probably pick up a monocular for scanning sometime within the next 12 to 18 months.

I had no desire to hunt hogs until I got a digital NV scope. Now it's my favorite way to hunt. It's just as fun as deer hunting to me. You can find a good deal on a Photon XT if you look around. I got mine for less than $400 shipped.

I use the XSight Gen2 as well and so far I'm loving it. With a T68 IR I can see a good 600 yards and identify animals at 300-400 yards away. Thermal would make it a lot easier to spot them obviously but I can't justify the cost of one. The XSight does everything I need it to do for a fraction of the cost. Maybe if I had a huge lease to go hunting every single night I could justify it but once a week nope got better things to blow 5k on. Maybe some day

I hunt out of a popup blind with a 40-yard shooting lane. The rest of the area is thick woods and brush. I don't think a thermal scope would do anything a digital NV can't do in that situation.

That was my thinking too and this just confirms it. Kyle to I need a T68 IR for mine?

Sorry meant T38 not 68 lol that would be a huge [censored] flash light rofl

You'd be surprised Jeremy when I went hunting with TXKiller I could see deer and yotes probably 300-400 yards into thick forest. Could see cow's heat signature through metal barn walls. Thermal is awesome for spotting animals that NV won't see.

Yes it's amazing and might be the most addicting type of hunting. The basic stuff is only a gateway drug.

Let us know how the deal goes with this company. I was looking at a scope from them that is $150 cheaper than elsewhere. Sometimes if its too good to be true!

It's worth every penny if your land, or lease has a hog problem. I enjoy doing spot and stalk hunts in the wheat fields at night. Hunting this way adds a whole other level of challenge, fun and risk to hunting. Nothing get's your adrenaline pumping like shooting a hog at night and the rest of the sounder runs in your direction. Talk about the pucker factor kicking into overdrive!

Currently I have a Photon 4.6x on my 300 BO SBR for spot/stalk and a ATN XSight gen 2 on my 6.8 for hunting from my blind. The ATN is a much better daytime scope than the Photon, but the Photon is a better nighttime scope. I also have a Bushnell Equinox DV monocular to locate/spot hogs in the wheat fields. All three of Digital NV was picked up for less than a thermal scope.

With the prices of thermal dropping I'll likely switch over next year.

Thermal is the real game changer but most anything is better than nothing. Thermal is getting better and pricing are becoming more attractive. It'll always be expensive, but the options are improving.

IF you have any questions about your ATN let me know! Also an FYI the new LAser Range Finder that pairs with the ATN X-Sight II works in night mode!

With the right IR can easily make 300+ night shots, and with the range finder you no longer have to deal with depth perception issues with night vision. Even at closer ranges.

Kyle got mine dialed in last night and we had a hell of a time. This thing is legit and exceeded my range expectation significantly.

My shooting is just fine - Still waiting on your videos. But then again people like you never back up their talk with action so I will not hold my breath... Your lack of self esteem and self confidence shows in all your posts, as all you do is talk down to others. I truly feel sorry for you, I cannot imagine living life so unhappy that all you have is to put others down. You give liberal a run for their money.
