I think I'm about to purchase a CCW. For those of you that carry, do you have night sights on yours, or do you regret not getting them if you don't? Seems like a lot of sketchy things happen after dark, but at the typical range of CCW encounters I can't really tell if night sights would make much difference. What do you think?

I put night sites on almost all of my pistols. Helps with first shot placement, but after the first shot you're pretty much blinded anyway. I feel better with them on there. But you're bound to get a lot of mixed responses

I wouldn't be without night sights on any weapon I count on for self defense.

I recently put the apex trigger kit in my shield. When replacing the factory spring with the lighter one, you have to remove the rear sights. I had been wanting some new sights anyway. I liked the truglo tfx pro best out of the few they had. Helps me stay on the front sight. Look great during day and the tritium is good at night. Doesn't snag on anything so far... I like

I have tritium sites on mine. Wouldn't have one without them.

Certainly won't hurt anything. I wouldn't recommend sights with fiber optic inserts for a defense weapon.

I prefer them on mine. Most of my pistols have night sights. I do have one of my CCW pistols (Ruger LC9s Pro) that does not. Reminds me I need to get some for it. It doesn't hurt anything from my standpoint. I acknowledge if you can't see your sights you probably shouldn't be shooting, but like I said - it won't hurt anything either and does aid in visibility and acquisition.

Like Greg I recently installed some TruGlo Pro's with the U cut rear instead of notch - and I like them. I have the combination fiber optic/night sights on a few of my pistols now and am really liking the combination.

Most of my pistols have night sights on them. If I pick up a pistol that does not have night sights I will put the Truglo TFO fiber optic night sights on them. I really like these sights and have them on several of my pistols.

The only carry pistol I own without night sights is a Ruger LCR with a Crimson Trace.

I prefer them. But like said before after the first shot you will be blinded anyways. I'd rather be prepared with the first shot and worry about follow ups after that. Of course it seems more bad stuff happens after dark and on a carry gun a light isn't exactly practical.

I've worked nights for 11 years as LEO, never had night sights on pistol/rifle/shotgun. It has never been so dark that I could clearly see my sights, middle of the woods yeah maybe, in a city, never seen it that dark.

I like them unless it's a target pistol.

No, I don't believe in them and don't think you need them. If any , only the front sight.

It's never really that dark and if it is you would need a flashlight.

If a gun comes with them so be it, but if I had the choice I would save that extra $50 and get some ammo or a holster.

Put night sights on anything for self defense. I'd check the manufacturer date as well to make sure they have not been sitting on the shelf to long. Night sights will go dim in 8-10 years.

I never had night sights on a pistol until my last purchase. From now on, all my CCW's will have them. Even though most defense shots are up close, I still want to be as precise as possible. In the dark, especially in your home, there's plenty that you don't want to shoot by accident. Plus, there's no downside to having night sights.

I have 2 CCW pistols . One has night sights. The other doesn't. I definitely prefer to have them . As soon as the funds are available I will install them on the second.

Anyone ever try to the night sight paint on the stock sights?

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I don't think you will be "blinded" while shooting at night. Maybe if you are shooting a ported pistol, you may see a quick flash, but it's not enough to effect your night vision. I qualify at night, 50 shots, no night sights, never been blinded or had a problem finding the sights.
