Guys, My wife and I had a hoot of a time yesterday turkey hunting. This was my wife's first time to ever go turkey hunting and my second time. Although Sat. we got us a Gobbler, named him Blue Head, we never had turkeys respond to our calls. This morning started late and slow. I hit the call a couple of times but never heard anything so I went ahead and finished a shelf I was putting up in my stand and once I got finished my wife and I saw a couple of hens. So I grabbed my slate call and hit it a couple of times and immediately we heard the gobble...they were close! I hit it good one more time and they came fast! They broke cover and immediately went for the Jake decoy which is the video above. The most aggressive gobbler stayed at it for more than eight minutes! They were there for almost an hour. The first three times they left we were able to hit the call and they immediately came back and started attacking the jake all over again. The last time my wife called them back. Cool video. Love it when you get them excited like that. You probably could have taken out all 4 of the bullies if you had wanted to.
