Just my opinion, but if you're only going to need something done a couple times a year, you're far cheaper in the long run, to just rent a tractor, or hire it done. Don't know what your ATV cost, but they usually don't have the best transmission for "turning dirt", especially on a routine basis. You can get a lot done with a 35-45hp rental tractor with/ shredder in a day. There it is. Use to rent a tractor from Zimmern Kubota in Decatur once a year for two days at the end of September or first week of October. Would have a 6' Bush hog to mow and a disc to plant. Everybody setup is a little different, I take care of 80 acres and there are a lot of small parcels around me. For me I believe its best to do your mowing only in late May so your not disturbing your hunting area right before hunting season. If you have a large spread then probably not a big deal when you do it. If the vegetation is rough, at least rent a tractor for the first time so you can knock everything down to where it might be more manageable with a smaller atv later
