Anybody ever do this? I had Dewalt rebuild my framing nailer a few years ago for about $100.00 My finish nailer crapped out, they wanted $93.00 to get it going. That's too much for something that can be replaced for not much more. Thinking about buying the O ring kit and seeing if my $30.00 gamble pays off. How hard could it be?

I'm curious too....I have a finishing nailer that is in too good of condition to toss.....the "hammer" will go forward but not retract. I've had it for about 20 years sill in the case. If you go the O-ring kit let me know how it works.

If it's a framing nailer made by Dewalt, I know they'll fix it worth the money. This repair was kinda steep compared to replacement cost.

I have one that will run narrow crown staples or brads that I wish I could get to run again.

When I used a lot of nail guns I would take the broken ones to the Duo-fast store and they would fix them for free or a very minimal charge. You might want to see if there is a Duo-fast (Southern Fasteners now)store in your area.

OR... Throw the Dewalt in the garbage and get a SENCO.

I rebuilt a Porter Cable. It was worth it. If I recall correctly the kit was less than $10. Be ready to take your time.

I've replaced two leaking trigger assemblies on dewalts. Very easy and back in order.
