So I tamed down my Mouflon Ram at 5 months old and he's been in parades with me ever since then and I've taught him a few tricks(Same Mouflon that might have saved my life during a dog attack when he was around 7 months or so). Now he's a yearling and I want to show him for my last year of 4-H at fair in a breeding class. Problem is, I'm having a very tough time finding someone who has shown a Mouflon at fair or a normal show. Do any of you out there know anyone who has shown a Mouflon?
Any tips?
Thanks for your help!! smile

No offense but I would think it would be a waste of time. The animals wether they be sheep, goats, swine or cattle are bred to be used for human consumption. That means more meat than bone, uniformity in the breed and how much of the animal can be used and how much would be waste. A Mouflon would not fit just as an Ibex would not fit into a goat breed at a livestock show. But if you have your heart set on trying it then go for it. If you do then please let us know how it works out.

Mouflon isn't a show breed you will need a sullfolk sheep or a boer goat etc... common meat breeds to enter a show with... If all your wanting to do is show I could help you with a goat.

Somebody has to be the first to do it. No harm in going for it and seeing what happens!!!

Each county has certain regs on what breeds can actually show so you may call and check on it. Did you Validate it at the first of the year for the local show?

For starters, Mouflon are not a Breed, they are a Species....there are no classifications for Mouflon in the Show Ring, but YES,do let us know how it goes!
