I'm researching trail cameras that can work off on AT&T's network and would like any feedback that you all may have about using this technology or any brands of cameras that you are using and how you like them/your experience. I'm testing two prototypes right now to determine what best in class is currently. I plan to start a connected camera company in the near future.

Other Questions for those who don't have these types of trail cams.

1). What price point makes this affordable for you and worth the investment?
2). Is texting and emailed pictures good enough, or do you want more app based solution that manages your pictures?

Thanks! My goal is to help you be more successful in the field using modern technology.

A mute point when you have a lease with little to no cell service. It would be nice to play with one though.

What are you going to offer that's uniquely different than what Moultrie, Covert or Bushnell offer today?

Are you going to manage plan or require a sim?
What experience do you have in game cameras?

I prefer an app solution so I can see pictures when I want

I purchased a Stealth at $400.00 that never worked. Personally I want a camera that text pics via SIM vs. adding a line to my plan (which he Stealth requires). I want something that's stupid easy to setup and a price point no more than $200.00. At that price point I'm willing to live with some scaled down features to receive text pics at a reasonable price. Hope this helps.

I'm using a Covert with their $15 a month plan with their AT&T connection, pics come via iPhone app. $15 a month, to get pics delivered to an app on your phone as they happen, allowing you to change camera settings, see battery health, etc.is going to be tough to beat.

That's why the uniqueness of your offer would be important.

That's one of the things we are trying to address. If you have some cell coverage but not strong coverage, there are ways to enhance coverage with a better antenna than what comes with the cameras today.

Ok. So what you are saying is that you would like to have a cheep version with lower picture quality for the $200 price point. The other point about the SIM card option vs adding a line I don't understand. My cameras all use a $20 plan that shares the family data plan that I have with AT&T. Super easy to set up is part of the plan.

Understood. We are looking at a similar solution but with more features long term. I ant get into those specifics yet. Camera coat is probably going to land around $299 for a 12mp and 1280hd video. My personal belief is that $400 is too expensive for this product.

Sim from AT&T will come with the camera. We can activate it for you or you can call it in. Plug it into the camera, add it works. We can preconfigure the device for you before we send it. $300 is our target price point.

First generation will be about the same quality. Second generation will have a lot more features and a enhanced antenna option for poor coverage areas. Price point will be better than those others. They are overcharging in my opinion.

I'm running spartans now. The picture quality is awesome. They run off ATT.

The new Covert cameras do not run off the owners plan. Covert has several plan options, that just happens to use AT&T, I'm using the $15 month plan.

You can add a Wagi antenna to any camera, I had one on mine when my lease was in OK,

Here are a couple of pics from our cameras. The night time picture is zoomed on. Let me know what you think. These are smaller resolution that I received from a text message.
