A couple of people have told me that the Can-am is built a little better. I haven't seen in person yet.

Do you have any experience with these models?

I've got the Defender HD10 Dps, awesome machine. Lots of power, fit and finish is nice, turning radius is crazy tight. Test drove a ranger 900 xp before I settled on a defender, liked that machine too just thought the Can am was a better fir for me.

I know a few people who have had rangers and hated them but know nothing on the can-am. I've drove a ranger once and wasn't impressed, not to mention the workmanship on it SUCKED, welds looked like they wouldn't hold a hammer hitting it but that could have just been that particular one

A coworker just bought a CanAm. I like it over the Rangers I've driven.

My Ranger 570 Crew has a super smooth ride, does well with 1000 lbs of feed, and pulls a trailer nicely.

Cons thus far: Turn radius is worse than anything you can imagine and they're expensive 2cents

Both are fine machines. I have a Ranger 900 and my uncle just bought a 1000 both crew. Previously both owned other Ranger models and never had an issue with any of them. I have no personal experience with CanAm other than my buddy bought one that he didn't have much luck with. He bought it lightly used but with the problems he had and don't think lightly applied to the situation.

IMO buy the machine that fits what you want to do with it. I use my Ranger every day and refer to it as a Cadillac. I don't drive it hard nor do I try to take it through obstacles. I use it to get around on and its perfect to load up some buddies and cruise around the lease doing chores and drinking beer.
