That's what Spring food plotting is for - relieves the itch a bit.

Yes, I have two feeders in the back yard I need to bring to the lease, about 60 yards of trees to cut for a new shooting lane, and I have to move my blind about 100 yards and put it up 5 feet. My wife thinks i'm more motivated to work out there than at home on the house/yard. She might be right........

Maybe Vagisil. I've heard it will stop any itch.

I start working out in hopes I draw a few western tags. Ditto, without the ditto If I can turkey hunt, that helps after big game, then golf, work when I can, fish when I can. Count the hrs you actually are hunting and it isn't much in relation to the rest of life, probably why it is a special time for many folks.

I have found the problem can be easily resolved by spending an hour or so at a local shooting range trying to knock a minimum amount of paper out of a target with a maximum number of shells.

Got on a new property this year. Gonna be more work and money keeping up with 2 places, im sure ill stay plenty busy year round. Have to set up stands and work on a field for a fall plot to start. Gotta set up new stand sites at the original place, kill hogs, make a food plot, build at least 1 duck blind, cull bass ponds(yes this is work with 8 ponds), rest of the my free time when not working my day job will be spent cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Fortunately were I hunt whitetails we have some axis so whenever I get the itch I'll go chase them.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Heard that. When it's 98 degrees outside the last thing on my mind is deer hunting

Always something to do at the ranch. Got a big screen Sony for Christmas. Lots of westerns to watch too.

I like the rhythm of the seasons and the break. Spring and summer are not for hunting anyway to me.
Unless I'm somewhere where it's cool/cold during our spring/summer.
I'll start thinking pretty hard about it come September though.......

Agreed. I just can't get into it when the weather is scorching hot. Come that first cool snap, the ol' neck starts to get "swoll"

All great ideas! Thanks for the feedback! I do my share of work and critter control in the off season, must admit my passion for whitetail deer hunting trumps all. Happy Monday THF!

Try moving to a new state and not having a place to hunt yet. That will make you anxious LOL.
But seriously I shoot my bow year round and that keeps me busy in the evenings. And I fish. I haven't taken up fishing yet here because I have to be here 6 months to not have to buy a non-resident license so I am waiting out my 6 months to avoid the expensive NR license.
