I just wanted FYI to those that are anxiously anticipating the new program to go online such as I-- i was first told that the new program would be active/online on March 15th, and then it was moved to May 15th. Well, i just received an update from my biologist who has informed me that its been postponed a little longer. See below:

"I am sorry about all of these issues, but due to the development of the program by a third party company the release date keeps getting changed...the most recent date that we have been given is June 15th which also means that the application deadlines will be different from what was previously stated as well."

I guess its to be expected when trying to develope a program such as this

Here is an email I received this evenin from the department---I am sure all current participants received the same:

Dear Managed Lands Deer Program (MLDP) Cooperator,

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) recently sent out an email to announce changes to the MLD Program that take effect with the next hunting season, which included information on the anticipated launch date of a new online system and the deadlines to apply for enrollment in either the new Harvest or Conservation Options (HO and CO, respectively; additional info available by clicking here). TPWD has become aware that the anticipated launch date of the new system must be slightly delayed from the originally anticipated time-frame of mid-May. Due to this delay, it is necessary to provide additional time to apply for enrollment in the CO, which has a standard application deadline of June 15 of each year. During this initial transition period to the new rules, for the summer of 2017 only, the deadline to apply for enrollment in the CO will be extended to August 1, 2017. The HO enrollment deadline remains September 1 of each year. The new online system that will administer the HO and CO will be available no later than July 1, and will be made available earlier, if possible. TPWD will send out additional information regarding the launch of the new online system as it becomes available, along with a reminder regarding the various enrollment deadlines that will apply for the transition period of this summer, 2017.

Thanks,

TPWD
