Anyone ever make one and have any success with it? I have seen a few from outfitters in Africa, but anyone ever try it for hunting in Texas? I would be interested in seeing some pictures. If you don't mind sharing but don't want to post, shoot me a pm and I will send you an email to send them t, if you don't mind.
I think I'm interested in trying to make one on our place and try it out.

I used them when I lived in Arkansas with great success. I made mine oval with "benches" to sit on and the dirt forming a parapet around the edges to make water run around the outside. Deadly in the right scenario.

at one time there was a thread here about a really nice one someone had built with cattle panels and concrete. i'd like to see it again myself, but i don't know if it's still here.

hard to move (lol) and watch out for snakes and other critters which would be harder to get out. I did bowhunt on a place a few years back from one and it was awesome to see deer from that perspective. Good luck.

The ground is very hard to dig in some places. West Texas would be out of the question

I bet it would be a super cool way to hunt. However, Rattlesnake infestation concerns alone would deter me from trying. That and the amount of work and permanency.

I'd need a backhoe and a jackhammer to dig a hole suitable for hunting. But the fear of a cow falling in there with me would probably keep me up in the air.
