Any reliable sources for this round besides Copper Creek? I would really like to have this rifle built but need a readily available source of ammo.

Chad maybe....... Another option is the 6.5 GPC very similar but Hornady is loading for it.

Whidden makes dies for it, and they're very nice. I recommend doing some digging. There's plenty of data out there, if you know where to look. Most guys end up with a powder charge really close to each other. There is also plenty of data if you have to buy 7 SAUM brass, neck it down, and turn it.
It's a hand loaders cartridge, for sure.

I have a pm sent to Chad. I'm not opposed to loading myself but don't have the equipment or any experience doing it so I wouldn't even know where to begin.
Anyone offer hand loading school for dummies?

I've taught a day of hand loading before. Same rate as teaching on the rifle range. He brought his equipment, and we got it set up for his rifle, produced loads, then shot them.

Get a reloading manual and google. Rolling your own is easy peazy, i started at 18 and I'm never the smartest fella in the room. Besides the forum is a great resource to ask questions.

most people make reloading way too hard/confusing. if you are a one hole group, benchrest shooter, your process will be a bit different.
get good equipment from the start.

I appreciate all of the feedback. After exchanging pm's with Chad this build has a green light. I look forward to doing business with him. I would still like to learn hand loading myself one of these days. I might hit you up Fireman when that time comes.

Good plan! It's a hell of a cartridge.

Got a question about barrel life.
This thing claims to have a 2500+ round barrel life, according to the GAP website. I've heard the 6.5c. Has less than 2000 round barrel. I thought barrel life was mostly a function of speed. For the same bullet diameter, the faster the average muzzle velocity the lower the barrel. What makes this caliber have a better life then the 6.5cm or 260? Or is the estimates I've heard wrong?
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Supposedly lower working pressures.

I got 2600 rounds on my 260 Rem. If you take a cartridge, make it bigger with more powder pushing the same bullet faster, simple logic tells you it will have less barrel life. If you want to "prolong" barrel life, you can reduce the pressures some to get a few more rounds. But the point of having a little hot rod is to have a hot rod. I would be shocked if this round got more than half the barrel life it claims.

Think sweet spot is 50-55kpsi

Ok. Yes, compared to 60K-65K psi, that's fairly mild.

Barrel life seems to be subjective. Some claim a lot some don't. I think a lot of it goes with how pressure is but mainly steel quality. I know one top smith who won't chamber one due to barrel life and having issues with load development.

For me this will strictly be a hunting rifle so barrel life was never really considered. I was really only worried about finding ammo.

I know one top smith who won't chamber one due to barrel life and having issues with load development. I was basically dismissed when I made that statement a while back. If it held the accuracy and barrel life claimed it would dominate the fclass world...some tried but they've went back to either the straight 284 or 6.5-284

Sounds like a suppressor order to arrive at about the same time is in order Congrats on ordering the gun...I have never met anyone not happy with a GAP rifle.
