A while back I built a knife for Mr. Smith, his design, with white micarta. This time he wanted another like it, but with sheep horn. I soldered the guard this time, my first. It turned out passable, but I don't think I'll do it that way again. BTW, if you say "sheep horn" on voice text, you always get "she porn." There's my public service announcement for the day. cool

Good looking knife! And that guard is soldered on there, huh? Does that mean a guard could be attached to another big knife I have? I had one built years ago, and when it arrived I'm thinking, why the heck didn't I have him put a guard on that thing? So, is that doable? It has rasp bolsters on it too. Probably wouldn't look very good, huh? It's still a good chopper though, if not a perfect stabber.....I guess.
And again...Nice knife!
